- Monte do Castro (the origin of Vigo),
- Playa de Samil (more than 1 km long with facilities for kids),
- Barrio de Bouzas (sailor neighbourhood),
- Calle Príncipe (Shopping street),
- Plaza de la Constitución (old city centre),
- Plaza de Compostela (boulevard from 19th century),
- Bouzas seaside (2,5 nice kilometres by the sea).

Weekend in Vigo

DAY 1: To open moth we recommend to visit Monte do Castro and its fortress with views to the sea. Continue by going down though Calle Manuel Olivié to see the horses sculpture in Plaza de España. Then take Gran Via to Urzáiz that will take you to Calle Principe (shopping street) and to Puerta del Sol, the access to the historic centre of the city. Here you can enjoy local gastronomy and the co-cathedral. If you like oysters you should visit Calle Pescadería.

After lunch, you can go through Paseo de las Avenidas and see the sea. Then, visit the boulevard of Plaza Santiago de Compostela and discover the majestic part of Vigo, where you can visit the Salinae (a Roman salt mine transformed into a museum) and finish the day in one of the terraces of Calle Rosalía de Castro.

Day 2: We encourage you to start the day visiting Pazo de Castrelos, where there is a museum of archaeology, history and art. There are also English and French gardens that deserve a visit. If you like to walk, you can start a route here through Río Langares that will lead you to Playa de Samil, where you can have lunch on the beach or in some restaurant. Otherwise, you can go to Samil by bus or car to spend the evening in the seaside, the beach and visiting some museums: Museo del Mar (sea museum), Verbum (house of words), Sales foundation (botanic garden) and finish your day enjoying the sunset.
